This is a service that takes place on the first Sunday of the month at 10.30am. The only exceptions are the ‘moveable feasts’ of Mothering Sunday and Easter Day when it may fall on another date.
All Age Worship is a very lively, informal hour which offers all kinds of activities in which adults and children may worship God and learn about Jesus Christ and the Christian Faith.
There will usually be a mix of traditional hymns accompanied on the organ and contemporary songs with our band and plenty of percussion. Children too young to read the words sometimes like to dance at the front or in the aisles.
There is always a theme; often based on the Christian calendar, but can include a Pets’ Blessing, a Harvest Festival, current social issues or a Bible story topic.
The Bible reading may take the form of drama, monologues or videos and the prayers can be visual or contemplative and usually there is some form of craft activity for the children.
It’s a time where everyone from tiny tots to centenarians can come together as a family and enjoy worshipping God in a relaxed atmosphere. There will always be tea and biscuits afterwards and sometimes some very special themed cakes!
